1:2.35 Cinemascope with the HVX

I just ran a test with the HVX where I shot 720p24N material, cropped it down to 1:2.35 aspect ratio, then created a new QuickTime file with the material stretched to 1754 x 1482 pixels -- which is the pixel size of Cinemascope Projection Aperture on a 2K film recorder. I then took this file to Alpha Cine Labs in Seattle and had them record it out to 35mm and project it with a Scope lens -- it looks surprisingly good.

But I wonder -- is there an anamorphic front that can be used on the HVX200 that will turn 1:1.77 into 1:2.35 ? -- it would be great to have the extra vertical resolution.

I've used the anamorphic adapter for the DVX100 and attached thru the 72-82mm adapter. Aside from from a slight vignetting on one side at certain zoom settings, the image looks very good. I've done no tests yet to film out to see if it holds resolution. In 1080 it looks incredible.

A simple res chart test will show a substantial quality difference between 1080 and 720. Why 720?
