••My first music video ever...35mm adapter completed!••

Hey guys:

After a whole freaking year of tweaking and twitching...my 35mm adapter is done. I have to give credit to two designs that have inspired my adapter. My design was based around Holyzoo's and Enormous Aparatus. All in all, I feel it is the perfect adapter for my needs.

I was able to use it for my first music video ever. I am extremely excited about the results. Check out the music video here:

I have not yet CC this music video.

i noticed that with the 35mm adapters I have to be extremely careful of lens flares...they create bad hotspots...hence the huge hood...plus it looks menacing.

I can see that, it took two tables to support it :) Consider the cavision support rail to put your mind at ease

lol..it looks like 2 tables...but actually the lighter wood is the server part of the bar table. The lens is extremely light.....
By the way...I saw your cavision rig. i am interested on the custom lens support you made. interested in making one and selling it. i am talking about the lens support part..kind of circular rather than straight.....

yes there its a misconception that these adapter are so heavy, that their "weight" will tear off the DVX's front threads. Its the length that make them look heavy, when they realy are not that much heavier than the anamorphic lens or a good wide angle.

So as weight is not the concern, the real caution must be taken in not bumping it into anything which is why I got the Cavision rail. However their lens support piece that is sold seperately is apparently not quite long enough for some designs, so I have cut my own out of aluminum flatstock based on their measurements. I can make you one....pm me.

Just be careful with the weight concern. It's more about how much torque you're putting on the DVX front threads when you're talking about things of equal weight. Not saying the tube set up isn't light enough as I've used it myself (although mine really, really, really, really, really sucked), but you could put a shallow item on a DVX that weighs a bit and not be able to do that with an item of the same weight if that weight is sticking out a foot from the treads. Hmmm. This doesn't really add anything to the discussion, but I'm going to post it anyway because I've typed it already. :)

Oh yeah, the video looks awesome! I'm not sure I'd CC it much, either.

Beautiful adapter! I'd love to know what the tube is that you used for it. It has a very sleek, professional look to it. Please share. :D

hey I'm here...I've made a couple of modifications to the adapter...no biggie...but trying out a new screen and a newer macro....should improve the image ten fold.
getting ready to test the adapter and then truly finalize the plans

:D

Good to hear from you Super8. Looking forward to seeing the plans as I had just about finalized my own. I really like that tube you used. Makes the whole thing really compact.
