Hi all. Continuing my ramp up with DaVinci Resolve & the FX6. I've a basic question.
Something is not clear for me... Does the resolution of the timeline impact the resolution of the final exported file ?
In other words: If my clips are in 4K, my timeline resolution adjusted to 720p, and I want...
Hi all, I've put my first video with the FX6 here. Actually, it's my first video with an editing tool ever
https://youtu.be/iiTvGNVU3Qo
It's the aircraft museum in Paris, 2 days after reopening after COVID lockout.
I'm sorry, it's boring and not artistic at all. I just wanted to mention that the...
Update done with the SDX card method.
Seems the faster and the more secure way. About 5 mn.
The file on the SONY site is not a zip, it's the actual file.
(for the 1.01 update I used the PC/USB method. After reaching 100% on the appli, the camera stayed about 7mn in a 'no man land' status before...
Just seen on Alister's blog that Sony has released a new FW for the FX6
https://www.xdcam-user.com/alisters-blog/
100p/120p RAW output + some stability fixes
Unfortunately, nothing related to the missing AF tracking, which is available on the A7 series and the FX3 :/
Sure, no pb :)
There is a lot of delay at Manfrotto currently. This one was the last remaining one in my area. I decided to take it instead of the 193N, which is a little bit smaller, because Manfrotto told me that all these series 19xN is on backorder until (at least) end of June.
Hi all,
I finally got today a Manfrotto bag ProLight CC192N. It is quite big, but not too heavy (about 2kg)
Here it is, with the FX6 fully assembled, 2 additional batteries, the Samyang 24/1.8 on the FX6, the Sigma 14-24/2.8 and the Sony 55/1.8
+ one Ronin RS2 including the dual handle option...
Today I got my Samyang 24/1.8. This little lens works well with the FX6 specially when used on the Ronin RS2. The total weight is 1.6 kg (FX6 with the Samy, the standard battery, without handles).
Since the weight towards front is low, the camera is shifted at quasi maximum towards front. It...
I discovered another SW feature which exists on the FX3 and does not exist on the FX6: PC or Mac remote control via wifi and Image edge.
So at this time there are at least 3 features (mainly SW) which are available on the FX3 and not available on the FX6:
- Autofocus tracking
- Bluetooth
- PC...
About the RC, I found this which answers exactly to the question (made for the FX3)
https://www.smallrigreseller.com/smallrig-wireless-remote-control-for-select-sony-cameras-2924.html
The only issue is that the FX6 is the only camera I know which seems not have bluetooth....That's a pity :/
very cool bag, it is :)
I'm still waiting for my Manfrotto CC193 :/
I'm also looking for an alternative to the crazy Sony RM-30BP remote controller
The reason: I got a Ronin RS2 and the interface of this thing is not compatible with the FX6. At least, not yet.
I just need a simple ON/OFF...
I've to say, I even don't understand what this update is supposed to fix and what was the issue ^^
I did it just to check the process, in case of an useful update (i.e. focus tracking) appears in the future :)
/edit
Seems the bug described by Alister Chapman here...
I did it with the PC/USB connection. Some remarks:
- Don't forget to disable the power & screen saving on the PC
- The update took 13 mn, BUT 100% was reached after 7mn only.... so wait and don't do anything before the message FW completed
- after the update, it's recommended to power OFF...
New FW update : 1.01
A new FW update is available on Sony site. Seems to be a minor update, nothing exciting. Nothing concerning autofocus

Sure. There are several options in this family (191-192-193-195-197). 193 looks good for a "light" config
(The price is more 150 than 220 euros on internet)

I confirm this charger works with the aftermarket batteries.
There are many clones. I have the Neewer one
Hi jmone,
I'm exactly in the same situation :)
I'm so happy to have found this place. So many thinks to learn from professionals here and unfortunately few to provide :/
If interested I could give some feedbacks regarding the lenses I have (I have a quite big stock as photographer)
There was a...
Hi all,

My pro is camera designer for medical purposes, so I'm more builder than pilot :)
I'm a photo user for a long time, first Canon then Sony. Currently a Sony...
