I think even then, it would still be a hard sell indeed.
The market for cameras priced substantially above $10K which are not called "ARRI", is a very small market indeed.
(and probably far too crowded already for the size of it, with the Sony BURANO & RED V-RAPTOR already in that space. And...
morgan_moore, yes, it was such a big missed opportunity by Panasonic to not have the DVX200 and EVA1 in a MFT Mount option. (maaaybe even the Varicam LT in a MFT mount option as well) Or been faster with an "AF200" coming out.
Will never happen now, as Panasonic's broadcast division is on life...
There are 11 S35 RF Mount lenses, four by Canon themselves:

Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 would be kinda...
Only with an adapter (just like with RF Mounts today).
It's only obvious with hindsight that EOS-M was going to be a dead mount (or obvious to those with a deeper understanding of the technical limits of EOS-M, I always thought EOS-M was going to be a dead end)
But I don't think that was at...
What batteries are you using now?
eSmart batteries are what people usually use. Some old school people would still be using NP1.
Or maybe because you're from the camera dept (I guess), then you're using V Mount?? (or even Gold Mount??)
If you use quality rechargeables rather than single use...
Amazing timing for you to post that just as the L Mount Lens version of the Samyang AF 35-150mm f2-2.8 got announced!
https://www.l-rumors.com/samyang-af-35-150mm-f2-2-8-lens-for-l-mount-officially-announced-in-the-uk/
Also the fact that the swappable mount has an allen key screw keeping it firmly in placed, shows that this camera is not just aimed at the mass market RF Mount users, but they're also targeting PL users too. This should be a serious cinema camera, not just a C100mk3 for modern times.
In general though it's better to not use a focal reducer, if you don't need it. As otherwise that's just adding in extra unnecessary glass into the path of the light.
Unless they also kill all "support" for also every single adapter ever, then no, speedboosters will never become useless...
Another big issue is that Panasonic had a tonne of new fans from the GH1/GH2/GH3/GH4 days, but they had nowhere to go up! (once the AF100 was getting outdated)
If you can't grow with your users, then eventually they will leak out to other brands.
That is the amazing genius of Sony, they've...
Branding 35mm format ·as Full Frame was the most genius move that Canikon ever pulled off! As why would you ever want anything less than "full"? Thus it made even APS-C a harder sell
Who wouldn't want their boom to be even lighter?
The new Deity S Mic3 and S Mic3S are out. All the goodness of the S Mic 2 but now even lighter. (by a lot! The S Mic3 is less than half the weight of a NTG3 or 416, the S Mic 3S is nearly half the weight of the S Mic3)
I like also that you can...
I'd definitely use multiple cameras. Is this going to be moving imagery or still shots? (I assume moving)
If moving, then look into 360VR, it's a very deep topic. Lots to consider.
Perhaps for 360VR I'd leaning towards one of the Z Cam E2 series, or the BGH1/BS1H, or Blackmagic Micro G2...
I'd also encourage you to consider long term.
Canon isn't top dog any longer like they were with the 5Dmk2 / 5Dmk3 / C100 / C300mk1 days.
What if your next camera is "a Sony FX6mk2"?
What if you one day go with "a Blackmagic Pyxis Pro"?
Or perhaps even "a RED Nikon Komodo X2"???
Making...
haha! Well, I was still posting on EOSHD/Facebook/MyYouTubeChannel/JWSound.
But yeah, the Sound subforum here at DVXuser is very quiet, and I am not working so much in the Camera / Lighting Dept so much in recent years, just focused on my work in the Sound Dept.
It's kinda wild how the cheapest secondhand Varicam at the moment is under $2K, while the cheaper EVA1 is over $2.5K
I just do not understand why the EVA1 still sells for so much on eBay? Especially when I compare it with Sony FS7/F5 or Canon C300mk2 / C200 prices.
Even if I've just got a lightweight recorder (such as a Maxx or 633 or F8n) and nothing else I'm still going to want to use a harness for sure! As it's a much better experience with one, and absolutely awful to be using just a shoulder sling instead.
