I had the FS100 off, and I plugged it into the computer and the FS100 started smoking. I unplugged it immediatly. I've got a call into Focus Enhancements emergancy tech, but in the meantime I thought I would post this. Any thoughts? I'm very worried. Both about the FS100 and my footage.
The scenario is this. I'm going to shoot a thirty minute show to play at museums, distribute to schools, and broadcast locally. I want to shoot it on 720/24p in letterbox with my shiny new HVX200. And record that on my nifty FS-100. And edit that with my upgraded Avid Studio HD. And then...
Can you record straight to a laptop, like a capture on the fly to Avid? Can you just load your Avid software on a laptop and borrow your dongle from your desktop? And has anyone done?
