2 days ago while shooting for a customer in a studio environment my 4.5 year old DVX100 suddenly exhibited a very strange behaviour. The picture in my viewfinder was suddenly blurry, the colours were off (as if out of phase), like green and blue were not aligned anymore and I think red was...
After almost 2 years of hassle-free usage I actually managed to spill half a glass of beer-lemonade mix (called "Radler" in Germany) over my trusty DVX100AE. I cleaned up the mess and everything still seemed to be working. The next day I noticed the zoom ring had become sticky, exhibiting much...
This may be a rather general question. In case this is off-topic, please don´t rip me apart as I think this might be an interesting topic especially for people living in Europe since HDTV is still not common over here.
I bought my DVX100AE along with the necessary accessories back in October...
Last year I went to Africa for the first time, shooting interviews in refugee camps for a friend´s thesis. I wasn´t expecting it to be easy in terms of aperture and colour, but it turned out to be doable under certain conditions. Back light can become very critical unless you brighten up the...
Hi folks,
I will soon be shooting a doc in Africa in a small fishing village in Somalia with no electricity whatsoever. My only chance of recharging my batteries is using the car outlet of our 4wd, so I will need to buy a car charger.
Any good or bad experiences using car outlets? How long...
Hi folks,

Do I need to have my camera serviced because that grain of salt could start wandering around my lens or is the focus ring isolated...
Here are a few shots I did in Bangladesh this January. What a country. Enjoy!
Workers returning home from the inside of an oil tanker at Chittagong shipbreaking yards.
An overview of the polluted coast.
Big ships sliced to pieces.
Cow sacrifice in a backyard in Old Dhaka.
I´ve just come back from 4 1/2 weeks of shooting in Bangladesh. My advice to all who are reluctant to take ther DVX to a third world country for fear of its safe return (or their own ;)) is to breathe deeply and take the risk. For me it was certainly worth it.
I shot a portrait of a rickshaw...
I´ll be shooting in a shipwrecking yard shortly, with lots of blowtorches. Additionally, the place is illuminated by huge lamps at night. Will I damage the cam/sensors by exposing it directly to this kind of illumination?
I bought my DVX100AE four weeks ago. I had to return it two weeks ago because the zoom was slightly jerky (horizontal shaking, manually and with servo) when zooming in at around Z90. Yesterday I received my camera with the optics replaced. Now I get horizontal shaking when zooming out at Z94...
