I am trying to film a time-lapse of nyc at night, but I dont know how to adjust the shuter speed to the point where I can see anything other than black on my lcd. I tried to adjust it on the shutter speed control behind the lcd panel, but it wouldnt let me put it to a level where i could see...

I'm guessing this is a commonly asked question.. I'm using the dvx100b. From what I hear, frame mode was disabled for this model?? I'm filming hours worth of time-lapses, and i would rather not use 10 tapes. Is there any way I can slow the frame rate down?? Thanks
