i have shot some stuff at 720 60p on the HVX200 onto the P2 card. when i try to import them into final cut pro (version5.0) it won't recognise the files type ? XML? am i missing something?

i have final cut pro 5, a power book G4 with 1.67 GHz processor, 1 GB of DDR SDRAM. i have a slot that accepts the P2 card but can not for the life of me import anything. it doesn't show as a drive on my desktop either?? any ideas? do i need FCP 5.1?
