Ya, I recall the chatter when Krotos previewed/demoed their video-to-sound plugin at NAB a few months ago. Krotos says it doesn't use generative AI, but uses AI to identify what's in a shot and then find and sync appropriate real-world sfx to the shot. Not sure that's a whole lot better for the...
Huh. I got the notice just before my next quarterly payment... And *maybe it's my liability stuff. I'm on the road; hopefully I'll get some more insight when I'm back home and try to figure out what to do...
Ya, I only saw very small increases over the years...and then I got this letter. It doesn't look like equipment, both owned and rented, is the cost driver here. And I can't take the risk of dropping liability, esp. And I need it for location permits if nothing else.
Not sure this is the right forum, but it's the closest I could find on the home page....
I just got a letter from The Hartford saying the premium for my professional/biz insurance policy (for property/equipment and usual types of liability) will "increase more than 25%" and will also have some...
TC offsets of one or two frames, I'm used to (and tolerate). But three frames seems to be the edge of "shut up and accept it, you post person."
Since waveform syncing is working for you, looks like you're good to go. Alternatively, I guess in Resolve you could do a batch offset to a media pool...
Timecode fix: That must be a relief.
Range: Overall, that seems pretty decent.
Cool that the DCiRX and TX are working for you. Thanks for sharing your experiences...
Look forward to reading about your experiences with the Zax TX.
And hey, how did you get the Viviana RF Saver to stay on the G3 TX? I found the base of the antenna too narrow to hold the RF Saver in place. A bit of gaff tape helped short turn, but overall not as successful as on Lectro TX. What...
[Edit: @DustinSchmidt please let me know and please forgive me if I'm saying stuff you already know here. Thanks --Jim]
So great that it's working for you. A couple quick thoughts on audio levels: I can't tell from your post (no worries), but where you talk about setting audio at +02 dB, are...
I didn't get to working on your clip this weekend. I'm still curious so I will try soon (but not today...spreadsheet fun most of the day!), But mostly: Glad you got things in better shape now.
Peter's suggestions are, as always, good. For me, I use a short on-camera mic to (1) keep it and it's...
I don't think there's a big difference in the end result. I was thinking along the lines of making selections with the Audition lasso tool and the brush-selection tool.

But also maybe try the spot-healing brush, which uses machine...
So that's a bigger challenge. For me, sometimes, treating bumps intertwined with dialog like plosives can help. As in: you may not reduce the whole mic hit, but you can reduce it. Again, I'm more familiar with RX than with Audition, but does Audition have a de-plosive or a de-click tool that...
An easy thing to try...with a copy of your source audio... is the online version of Adobe Enhance Speech. The online version currently has a better model than what's in Premiere etc. There are two big models...it defaults to v2, which is what you probably want. v1 give more of a booming podcast...
Cool!
Correct me if I'm misreading... You're saying you feel you'll get enough utility and use out of the DCiRX now that you're OK getting it before you have compatible transmitters? Or will it work with Sennheiser (and perhaps other) TX as some Lectrosonics and Wisycom RX will?
I'm looking...
I moved this over from the NAB 2026 thread since it's now May. ;-)
Just curious: Do you recall if the QC issues were flaws out of the box, or problems down the road?
If bought from a place like Duclos, which says they bench test every lens they sell, would that resolve the potential QC...
