    What is the min. FCP version to capture a live stream

    If I'm running my signal straight to a laptop for recording in the field (no cards or firestore), is there a minimum version of Final Cut I need to support the 780i/24P data capture. Will 4.5 work or do I need a larger version?

    Can I use FW HD as a Firestore alternative?

    I can't afford the firestore or p2 cards right now. What options do I have for Firewire Hard drives that would be compatable or support my footage. I read someone on another board mention a FW card that sells for 1,800. Do I need this too?
