I have a DVX100 which I've been using as a deck for about a month, and I just picked up a Panasonic PV-DV53. I'm thinking I'd like to start using the dv53 as my deck just because it's a much cheaper camera...if I am using it only as a deck, is it the same quality as the dvx100?

I just dropped my power supply (the panasonic OEM one) onto my marble floors, and bam....no more power supply. I found a new one in LA for $170, and it's in stock....does anyone know of any other options before I spend the money? Please reply ASAP, I'm about to run out and get it in a few hours.

I work on a show where we have a pd-150 shooting DVCAM along side my DVX100 shooting DV. Our editor warned me that using sony DVCAM tapes in the DVX100 may not be the best thing for my camera...what do you guys think? I do know about not changing brands of tape because of the lube used, but...
