Has anyone used the Elinchrom scanlite?
I have a bunch of Rotolux stripboxes and was thinking of grabbing some scanlites instead of kinoflos.
I cannot find any information on them however, it seems no one uses them. Does anyone have any experiences with them? Does shining one through a...
Hey guys,
Unless NAB brings something crazy along to tempt me I think I'm going to make another C100 purchase. Regretfully I don't have my original C100 anymore. Even though the specs don't line up that well against all the new kids on the block there's just nothing else for the money that is...
The 1DC seems like a pretty cool camera for me as a 80-90% stills shooter. I've been waiting on the mythical new 1DX II and hoping it comes with 4k (or at least nice crisp video in 1080p), but who knows when and if that's going to happen.
The price drops make the 1DC a little more attractive...
We usually film Sydney Wedding Videos but this one is from down in Canberra. I'm an absolute geek so I'm always testing cameras against each other during weddings. Especially when I know my videography pal is there using something "safe" like a C100, I personally love to experiment with new...
I'm an absolute geek. That means I'm always trying to figure out the best cameras and lenses to use for weddings, short films, photography blah blah.
I've used the C100 extensively but lately I've been using the A7S which has reminded me how good the "full frame look" is for certain types of...
I've been using my A7S for weddings alongwith the xyst stereo microphone and it's been great. I use it on a monopod, tripod and handheld. I only have one concern which is fairly major. Coming from a C100 I had access to dual recording onto two SD cards and now with the A7S it only has one slot...
I've been looking at stabilizers for the A7S. I know the Glidecam HD2000 would work well but I was wondering if there are any cool new products that are much more compact these days? The camera is so light that I'd love to keep the steadicam setup light too!
I was looking for solutions similar to the rode videomic pro and stereo mic for the A7S and came across these:

I don't currently have a Mac to give this a shot, but I was hoping someone could answer this for me. Does FCPX support the XAVC-S codec? I see that it has support for XAVC but there's nothing mentioning the new -S version of the codec.
I'm curious to know if it supports both editing native and...
Okay well it seems hardly anyone else has this lens. I just picked it up today and I must say i'm mightily impressed with both the OSS and the IQ. It seems as though the in camera corrections are being applied even for video.
If anyone is interested in this lens, IMO forget about the reviews...
I can only find a couple of odd clips here and there, there's not even a flickr group set up for this lens it seems.
Okay so it sucks for stills on the A7R, but it's currently the only choice as far as a native OSS lens in the standard focal range (and probably will be the only one for quite...
Here's a still from the Voigtlander 35mm 1.2 @ f2.0 on the A7S. I dunno I just love how it's handled that foliage which is pretty much the most difficult kind of OOF area to deal with. It's very creamy to my eyes and the opposite to what my Sigma 35mm 1.4 would do.
I thought I'd share the following which I just filmed and edited tonight:

My good friend taking down a massive rib challenge with some Drive inspired footage of the trip there. I just picked up the A7S yesterday and thought I'd give it a quick spin to see just how...
Hi guys, I am tempted by the A7S but I'm wondering just how well it'll sit on my existing shoulder rig. The biggest question I have which the specs don't seem to answer is: does this camera support DC Power Input so that I may use it with my V-Mount battery?
I don't use my Ninja 2 very much, it's always been a bit of a pain to rig up especially when I want to go handheld. But this looks like it may be more manageable:

My only concerns are that it uses the only thing worse than HDMI... mini-HDMI and those CF cards...
