Does anyone know how Kubrick did audio? Lot's of wide angle shots in interiors with hard surfaces. Sounds like an audio nightmare.

What does everyone think of using a high end omni mic like the mkh20 as a boom mic? At least for interior shots. What would be the pros and cons? Omni mics tend to have greater sound fidelity and freq. response. How would it compare to a cardiod like the mkh40?
