Need help filming 360 degrees around a subject

I want to be able to film a subject (a person or an object) in such a way that the camera moves completely around them in a 360 degree arc (i.e. a circle.) Some of the subjects will be small (perhaps a lamp) so I could be relatively close, while others will be large (a person, perhaps) so I’ll probably have to be further away.

I am looking for suggestions as to how to construct such a device. Perhaps two devices would be required; one for large objects and one for small objects. Money is a bit of a consideration.

I sort of envision a Lazy Susan or perhaps a Merry-Go-Round type of device with a hole in the center so that the subject does not rotate with the camera. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Is the subject to trun or the camera.

Subject: Lazy Susan

Camera: Curved track and a simple dolly.

Ebay is a great place to start ...

ok try key west magic dolly but the ground has to be even or use 8 curve tracks on a focus dolly my favourite set up

I've heard of using hot sand (heated in an oven) to make nice bends in pvc pipe. Perhaps you could build a forms for bending pvc in the 2 circumferences needed to build a skater dolly track of the correct size.
