....Er, almost.

Got my 4GB P2 cards this morning and get my 8GB cards either tomorrow or wednesday. My contact in Japan who shipped me the 8GB cards said they're starting to ship more now and look to be more readily available. Good news I guess since I know several people here are waiting for their cards.

So looks like cards are coming and others were reporting that more cameras are too. Good news for all those waitlist people. :)

4GBs were US$629 each from Henry's in Canada and it cost $12.99 or something like that to ship them to me (took 3 days). I tried and tried to find 8GB cards and finally gave up. A friend of mine in Japan works with a shop there and they've been getting a few 8GB cards in here and there. At $192K Yen or whatever the current MSRP is for 8GB in Japan, it works out to like US$1615. I know I paid a premium for them (plus the $35 shipping to get them here), but I need them for a project starting a week from today and I couldn't hold out to find them somewhere closer. ...Knowing my luck, I'll get them thursday and my local dealer will call me Friday saying they now have them in stock. ;)

Yeah, my friend is buying three 8GB cards (that's all he could get) from Japan for something like that price. He also imported three HVX200s.

Here in Australia we are waiting very patiently. I tell you its amazing the amount of interest thing camera is causing. So much that even the negatives that people drone on about indicate to you how much they actually want or need this camera. Panasonic have really created a cult following starting with the dvx and now the hvx.

Cult indeed. Let's just not all drink the punch! OR I take that back.. everyone on the AVS list in front of me.. please, have some cold refreshing punch.

Also, when you do get the camera please shoot the toilet water going down the drain the opposite direction... and all in glorious 60 FPS... Now that would be spectacular.

its funny, the whole time i was in Oz i couldn't find a toilet that swirled...oh, and i was looking man...they all just suck straight down without a swirl at all

the sweet thing was, EVERY toilet had two buttons - one for half flush, one for a whole....i guess we don't have those in the U.S. cause we're so full of crap
:)
