Which 1080 24p mode should I shoot in?

I have been shooting in Native mode. I like gaining the extra space on the P2 cards. plus if you VFR anything it will show up in realtime in camera and also on FCP.
 
That doesn't make sense to me. Variable frame mode is only available in 720p, right? Also, 720p mode is the only mode that offers the native mode that saves frames (space on the P2 card). I'm pretty sure about that. I was asking about which 1080 mode to shoot in and why. I'm sorry if I am wrong or if I misunderstood your answer.
