This is the kind of sh I can't understand - with so many preOrdered perPaid customers, how the hell do they get away with sending out unpaid-for units while other prepaid customers are left waiting?
Maybe in this case there was a mix up and cancellation?
 
I think he means pre-ordered from Panasonic. I would'nt think Panasonic would cancel a dealers shipment because another dealer has a huge waiting list. Most of the wait seems to be with the big boys, and if not for the greatest Panny based board on the planet, I wouldn't even be aware of WPS.

That's because you don't really order the camera (from Panasonic), the dealer does. If the dealer ordered a few cameras to have stock in house way back early in this game, they are going to get them.
 
yeah.. its important for you guys to remember that your not pre-ordering your camera from panasonic, but from your dealer.. your dealer has to answer to what they do with the cameras, not panasonic.

I dont know who WPS is either for what its worth :)

I just got one from them too. Can't believe it! Glad I logged in when I did to check this forum. Thanks for the heads up!

I'm getting a P2 Store which I didn't intend to get, but I'll probably end up enjoying it quite a bit without having to lug a laptop around. The P2 is mac compatible right? If it's not, anyone want a P2 store?

Now I have to wait for the shipping. Hopefully it moves fast. It's like christmas morning!
 
I feel sorry for the guys that ordered from some of the "big boys" on here and are like number 147 on the list.

Common sense would have said that "Joes Video Emporium" in Hicksville, backside of nowhere, wouldn't have a list, and as long as they are authorised dealers would be able to get them just as easily.

If you are lucky enough to not be on a list and want a HVX200, an hour or two spent on the panasonic site, going through all dealers in remote places, will probably prove successful.
 
Mine is shipping today!

SO I am just going to receive the Camera, Cards, & extra Battery on monday and wait till they get the P2 Store in...

Oh well. JUST Besides myslelf that I got on shipping today!
 
strange, they told me they only sell packages, That means there would be no single items. Hope (I was first in row)my P2 store arrives because i'm planning to shoot on dvcpro50 next week.

Thank you both for the purchasing from us.

FYI,
They're are more on the way at least to us, I can't speak for other dealers.
But the rule does apply, that if you aren't going to bone up and order for the next batch. It will continue to be a wait. This is typical for most new products, they don't estimate that it's going to go like gangbusters, so they only make up so many on the first few runs.

One thing to note about something previously I read on the forums. The product availability is from Dealer to Dealer. It's up to the Dealer to order Stock. Not Panasonic to allocate to a certain regions just because there are more backorders in one or two areas. It's the dealerships responsibility to cater to the customers they serve. There's also other factors
that obvisously I can't discuss. But that's the main factor.
The waiting list isn't a bad thing, it protects you to at least get the product.

You lucky b. I have to wait. It first had to be shipped to miami where it will be shipped to Curacao (caribbean). It will take a couple more days.
Have fun with it. I will go through the brochure again...and again ;)
BTW. nice guys over there at WPS
 
I worked with Fred at WPSWorld.com last Thursday and I got mine this morning. Great to work with. Called me back with updates. Ordered camera and 2 4GB cards.

Recommended.
