RoweCine Dolly kits now for sale!

sugahsean469,

i would recommend the 24 wheel 4' set. its only 10 more dollars, and as you said its better fro riding ect.. i also have one ready to ship vs the 1' would take a few days to ship out. the 24 4' wheel set is the standard order, and for good reason. its overall the best suited for average use. a 32 wheel set is great as well of course, but not reaaly needed unless your going to be putting some REALLY heavy loads on it. im talking upwards of 400 lbs. ..not to mention, they look "flippin sweet" (to channel our good friend Napoleon Dynamite).

the 1' rails are really only designed for usage on dollies shorter than 4' . they allow you to go down to 2' since you can space them as needed lengthwise. however they do not provide as much support for weight, and in my opinion do not look quite as nice as the full length rails.

hope this helps, and happy shooting!

Cool advice. Thanks, Neil. However, consider yourself $305 richer!!

I figured, if I am going to get one, I might as well go all out--live life to the hilt, live for me Wyatt, live for me (channeling Val Kilmer as Doc Holliday).

Now, if I can find a 350 pound gorilla to stand on it with a tripod with a DVX, or hopefully with an HVX. . .

Anywayz, let me know the ETA!!

haha! i usually rent my gorillas from the local pet store. $305 richer? ha! would be nice, but that wouldnt account for us buying all the materials and tools and packing materials paying for shipping and supporting this site ect. .. not to mention the time. ,, then generally any profit left over goes into developing our new products :) anyway, it looks like you can expect it to arrive by sometime mid next week (possibly a little earlier) since the weekend comes into play, and im taking a couple days off for company over this week.

were a couple weeks away from releasing the dolly handle system. everything is in place now except the order system and such. ..almost there!

Hi again, Neil. :)

Please, could you tell us more about this dolly handle system? How much it will cost and do you have any pics of it perhaps? I´m soon placing my order, so it would be cool to know before that. I think it´s better to wait a little bit than order now...

Thanks.

Hi Neil,

I've read through this thread and have seen many references to the track, but could you or someone explain in detail some of the options for the track that could be used with this?

I'm wondering if the track can be PVC pipe from a hardware store?

Is the track mounted on something to keep the spacing between the tracks?

Is the track mounted on something to keep it raised from the ground?

I'm new to this so any help would be appreciated. This looks like an awesome product that could add VALUE to anything that I'm working on.

Thanks

sure, you can use PVC track from a hardware store.. id reccomend 1- 1 1/2" thick walled JMP type track.. its cheap and flexes to fit in your production vehicle, and works with our included screw in track connectors. you dont need to have spacers for the track because the rails going over it will space it for you as it rolls over it.. just roll it up and down a couple times and it will be in perfect spacing. you dont need anything to hold it off the ground unless your on really rough terrain like thick gravel or uneven ground. in that case i would reccomend using metal pipe track or regular cinema dolly track and using wood planks underneath with shims to keep the track nice and even.

you are certainly right about adding production value though. a dolly is a great tool to do just that. they also add "bling" value to your customer and crew. they really do look professionally killer on a nice platform. the new yet unreleased handles look very very nice as well and both are very very strong and durable for professional usage, and will last a long time.

Thank you for your reply. We will certainly be placing an order for the kit.

It's obvious that this is a 'quality' product.

I just made my own dolly. I spent a couple hours and about a hundred bucks. I was really excited to try it out. Once i did i was pissed. It wasnt as smooth as i though it would be. I even spent money on good wheels. Wish i would have seen this post earlier.

Neil. Is your kit Supafly TNT or just supafly (how smooth is the 4 wheel set)

Also. You said you'll be selling a PVC connector kit? Did i read that right?

Neil,

Did you get my order from 2-3 weeks ago? Not impatient, just would like to confirm the PayPal was received.

Thanks,
Josh

hey Josh,

yeah, sorry about the unusually long wait. first we were out shooting for a while, and now that were back, we are just waiting for the wheels to arrive now to complete yours and one other kit. they didnt ship them on time as promised and now were just waiting for them to get here. Im really not at all happy about it as you can imagine, but theres not much i can do about it to get them sooner. however aside from apologizing, i can do something else for you about it. i was actually going to PM or e-mail you guys tonight but i caught this here first. you and the one other outstanding order will be recieving a free Rowe Cine quick release dolly push/pull bar system. they are 100% aircraft grade aluminum and suprisingly light as a feather but very very strong, and have custom manufactured all weather cusioned handle grips, and push button quick release and attachment system for under dolly storage. these will sell for 100.00 here. you should be among the vary first to have them! again, sorry about the delay, but rest assured, its on its way the second we can send it!

Not so many days for the 3-7-06. Hopefully, we will get more info of the dolly handles then. :) Already waiting.

Neil, no problem or need to explain. Just glad to hear I didn't get lost in some PayPal netherworld. I appreciate the bonus. I'll be sure to post my impressions of it. Looking forward to it!

Josh

Hi,

I'm about to shoot an indy comedy here in Atlanta and we are really interested in this dolly.

Can someone PLEASE post some footage of a dolly move shot with the Rowe.

I need this to convince the producer to spend the cash. He just wants to know this will really work.

Thanks,

Ed Hill

Hi guys,

Has any user of the Rowe Cine Dolly shot video with the dolly?

Could you please post a short clip of a shot made with the Rowe dolly?

I am grateful for any help you guys can offer.
Thanks,
