My First Day Out With The Hvx200

Emanuel,
That's another idea. Perhaps using a program or plug in to clean up noise is a good solution. Have you used any? Do these type of programs work? They must take forever to render (just a guess). Do they attack the wrong info sometimes? Will they clean part of an image making it stick out, or will it leave some of the noise behind to keep the image consistent? Do you select the noisy area or does it look over the entire frame?
Thanks!

Unfortunately not. That's why I left the question. Can you test it with HVX footage? What is it possible to you?

I'm a little low on cash right now. I wonder how much these noise reducing programs go for. I would buy one if it wasn't that pricey. Also, as far as the noise goes, I will do a test soon to determine if shooting in 1080 reduces the noise level to my liking. I've heard some people say that it will. I'll keep you guys posted. Also, keep in mind that I did not see noise in every 720 24p shot.

remember that shooting 1080 will increase your storage needs A LOT over shooting 24Pn - you will also need to check and see if overcranking and undercranking will mix in well since that is only available at 720

My feeling is that 720 will be so much more easy to work with so its better to use 720 unless 1080 turns out to be a huge step above

Yup, midtones and low light isn't it? But maybe with the appropriate settings + noise reducing filter (try ask a demo to test it) + shooting 1080 (good idea) ...
