••How do you reset a DVX100?••

Hey guys!

anyone knows how to reset a DVX100? I know it would void any warranty if you mess up the camera, but I would still like to learn this bit of info.

I hear there is arecessed "reset" button on the camera that you press with a straightened-out paperclip. Anyone knows where this button is and how do you properly do it? Camera turned on or off?
 
Reset as in reset the hours meter ? I'm not understanding the question because I didn't think there was anything to reset
 
yup...there is a reset button. I just learned that it is found underneath the LCD screen.....it resets the DVX100 back to factory settings.
 
If it resets back to factory settings, surely does that just mean that all the cam settings will be returned to what they were when you got the cam.

You know, if you've changed gamma settings, knee etc will those not all just be reset to zero.

I would imagine it would like clean installing a PC or Mac operating system. The slate is wiped clean.
 
Theres an easier way to do that: GO Scene file menu > Save/init: Select initial function... all scene files will be reset to how the camera was sent to you.
