Hi everyone!
Here is a video we shot in Miami a long time ago (July 05). It was when that first hurricane came thru. It was the third ever music video we shot. It was fun, we got to explore Little Haiti...etc

peace.

Wow, beautiful coloring. Tell us more. Did u use a lense adapter??? which one? Really nice mellow looking color at the beginning and very powerful.

Damn, man, that was tight! You really captured the vibe here. As others said, great colors, too. The editing was nice and quick, but never let go of the riddim. I'm a huge roots fan, and I really dug the tune. Crucial!

Please let us know more specs on the techical side.

Thanks!
CC was all done in final cut. No lens adapter. Pretty much factory camera settings.
hmmm what else...
We had a ring light for the subway scenes. We had a couple of HMI's for the performance night time scenes. Everything pretty basic really...
It was a fun shoot, for the night time jungle scenes, those were shot in Johnny's backyard while outer bands of the hurricane were coming thru, so we were interrupted and shot under the rain quite a bit. That was my first time over in Florida, and had a great time, I was under the climate shock being all humid and all, so overall it felt like a very surreal experience hanging out with some true rastas.

Media Militia is blowin up. I really like your film music video also.

I think lighting is more important at the low-budget level, then the camera.

You guys rock.

Here we go. Well yes it was shot with the good old dvx.
I think lighting is key for sure. But more important is style.
And since no one is really doing any critizism. I think what that video lacked was style and a clear concept / idea. I was quite happy when we shot it back in August 05, and when we had a final cut in December.
But looking back on it, I think it's amateurish in its approach. We shot too much of Johnny and not enough of B-Roll. It came out to be a big collage of stuff, much to represent our state of mind when we shot it, when we had no idea of what we were going to do, and of what we were doing.
But hey, maybe that naivety was a good thing, it was fun as opposed to being a job.
