Hello fellow HVX's
I have a client who wants to shoot some stock footage.
What do you all think would be the most universal format to
shoot and deliver on??
24p or 30p, 1080p - i 720p????
Initially he was thinking QT downloads.
I was thinking that 30p would be more useful to
more editors. But I guess it will depend on the nature
of every stock shot??
Any input would be appreciated.

All of the above.

I think the main thing will be 1080P in 24P, and 60i. You can down convert that to 720 if needed without a problem.

I could be wrong. I know when I need stock footage, I either need it in 24P or 60i but found most places have it in only 60i. That was for DV though, and buying HD at the time was too expensive and we had to convert the 60i to 24P and it doesn't look as nice as it would at native 24P.

just do a Google on Stock Footage.
Lots of cheap stuff around. Some OK
Most in SD. (good) HD Stock is selling
at a premium.
