Hey! Haven't poted here in a while- been keeping busy- but I just finished writing, directing, & editing a short movie that I'm pretty happy with- "Levity"! I won't say much about it except that it's somewhat on the surreal side- one of those "oh man, wouldn't it be freaky if..." scenarios that pop up when you daydream. Maybe that makes sense. Maybe not. Just watch it. It would scare the hell out of me if this actually happened. Let me know what you think! :)

pretty cool! how did you get that last shot with the people floating in the reflection? and the penny floating?

Awesome Short!

Awesome Short!

I loved it! It reminds me of an independent movie called PRIMER. I love stories where reality and science fiction are mix together. Your short have a ; Very strong introduction, great middle and awsome ending. I think you could expand this idea to make a feature, my guts tell me this could be a great first feature if you think about it. I'm a DP and camera guy , if you think about remaking this let me know, I'll love to help you out.
How did you do the penny shot?? share man!

Great job man!
G.

besides the acting i thought it was really good.

yeah, how did you do those effects?

Very Nice! I was engaged from the very beginning. I really liked that your effects were subtle like the single penny, and the reflection in the window. The timing and length were great too. Good Job!

This was really solid ! Why was this not entered into Scifest ? I would imagine this would have gotten some high votes.

I really enjoyed this. It was wonderfully shot, the talent sold me (The lead was pretty good I thought), the score, the titles, the pay-off; wonderful.

The lines at times seemed a little forced but thats my only gripe.

Great job !

Tell us how you did the FX also please!

BRavo!

Interesting....I would have liked to have seen more of the story unfold. I was left wanting to see some sort of conclusion or explanation for everything. And like everyone else said, I want to hear your special effects methods!

Nice camera work, nice efx, love the reflection, but it is damaged by the distracting weak dialogue and acting. Also, great set up, but no conclusion. A nice little twilight zone flic like this should have a very intense and intelligent ending.... a reason why we just watched it.
Otherwise, great work.

PimpDaddy- good points, I can see where you're coming from. IF it was a complete movie there should be more resolution... but this was less a Twilight Zone flick as it was the intro to a Twilight Zone flick. :) Given the fact that I had a time limit of 3 minutes (this was for a class and the movies couldn't be longer than that), the idea was for this to be very much a teaser of a piece- something you might see in the first couple minutes of, say, "Lost", right before the screen goes black and you see the opening titles. Something to grab your attention, make you go "whaaaaat??" and have you want to watch more. Do you know what I mean? At least, that was what I was going for. Hope it came across. :)

Anyways, glad y'all are liking it! The penny stuff was fun- I gorilla-glued the tip of a mechanical pencil to the coin, and "levitated" it in front of the camera about 50 times until the timing was right. Then I exported the shots as still image sequences, opened them in photoshop, painted the hand and pencil blue, imported the frames back into Final Cut, saved them as a movie, and used a piece of empty background plate to bluescreen my hand out. LOL. Probably not the most efficent way to do it, but it made sense to me and it worked okay!

And Mr. Hudson- I finished it just a few days after the Sci Fest deadline had passed! I was kinda disappointed about that. Glad you think it would've done well though!

I just noticed that you're located in Savannah, GA. You don't happen to go to SCAD do you? That's where I went to school, I thought the location in your short looked somewhat familiar. Anyway, keep up the cool work.

Remarkable!.
I wonder what blew up. is it a Nuclear bomb, or something that causes people to float (forgotten it). So where those guy's some geek that loves building stuffs or what (looking at the way they looked at each other when asked, what's about to blow up?)

Dude, I would surely wanna know what happened at the end! .. Good story ... that is!

I loved that!

The penny and the people, just wow! I hope you make this into something bigger. That would be awesome.

Ok, I'm gonna have to revive this topic... the movie is way too cool to stay off like that.

Nuts. Looks like your movie has been moved to a different server. Can you repost the link? I'd love to see it.
