Flickering images at slow motion

I am starting to get upset. Everytime i make a slow motion from HDV 50i to 50% speed, some parts of image start to flicker.
Does anyone notice this?

Here is an extreme example of the problem. Sometimes you dont see the issue. Sometimes footage becames unusable.
How can we fix this? Why is it produced?

thanks!

is the iris wide open? what's your shutter speed?

sometimes shooting at higher than 1/60 and below 1/250 can cause flicker.

Did you use a 35 adapter infront of your lens when you shot that?

Were you near some electrical transmitter or the sort when did that shot?

Just want to eliminate the variables at first.

In the first example i am using a g35.
In the second it is just a plain camera.

So the 35mm adapter has nothing to do with the effect.

Nothing electrical around. This was done in the total desert.

I would try shooting at 1/60. Also, "reduce interlace flicker" in vegas might solve your problem.

Can anyone help with this issue?
Am i the only one with this problem? I´m sure it is a codec problem and how color is stored in the video, not a shooting problem.

If that is your suspicion, it sounds like it is just an issue of interlace flicker.

A combination of very thin pixels and slowed down motion makes the flickering more noticable. And for some reason, the fields are being blended properly. You will probably just have to expiriment. Personally, I have had the best resluts with magic bullet de-interlacing. In some cases, it is the only thing that would completely get rid of flicker for me in slowed down 60i video.

If you don't have magic bullet I would be willing to expiriment for you with the m2t files. My email is iamtommy@gmail.com

Thanks.
