Off Topic, I'm going to be careful eating Spicy Food

I was eating mexican food at a chain restaurant, and I at first thought it was going to be good, but it tasted like had they just took leftovers and smushed it all together making a taco out of it. They put corn beef in a taco, which tasted kinda gross afterwards to me. I almost puked at the restaurant from coughing hard. After a while I had some irritated throat issues and was having issues breathing until I got some water and alka-seltzer. I literally thought I was gonna pass out from the food.

Bad experience, I'd give it a 4/10 had it not been for how good the taco shells and coca-cola tasted.

This is unintentionally pretty funny because you're probably being serious posting this, but I will note that one of the only times I had mild food poisoning in my life was from Chipotle (just once many years ago, no big deal).

In my 20's I could not get enough spicy food into me. Then my GI turned on me, have had to keep things much more sedate as years go by. Watching "Hot Ones", funny as it is, is virtually PSTD inducing for me ,once they hit Da Bomb in particular. That show would be a hard pass for me (if in some parallel universe I was a celebrity who was invited onto it).

I wonder if they sell all of them for people to try (I know Buffalo Wild Wings does).

I love hot and spicy food (but it has to be clean though, no crazy oils/fats/too many carbs/etc).

I like that show but that was years ago, I've moved on after the novelty wore off.

You can get the full experience without being on the show, just order the hot sauces and do the challenge at home. A friend gave me a bottle of hot sauce that was near the top, it wasn't Da Bomb, it's Reeper Squeezings. I've had it a couple of times and it so hot it's impossible to comprehend unless you try it. If you take 1/4 of the size of a pea your mouth will be on fire for an hour. You put 1/4 of a teaspoon to an entire pot of food it will become as hot as if you used half a bottle of Tobasco, that how potent those sauces can be.

I do love hot sauce and would have more if I could the problem is it irritates my "exit door" if you know what I mean. So I have curtail my use.

Why do you think people give a **** about what you eat? What the hell does this have to do with film/video production? Take it to Fecebook where it belongs. This the kind of crap that will ruin the forum.

Well to be fair, this section is called "Cafe a la DVX", so apparently spicy food was on the menu at the cafe that day.

Considering how many of the core group are men over 50, we should probably have a section on Men's Health issues here--how to manage repetitive stress from handheld, kvetching about kiddos who can operate with a monitor 6" from their eyes without glasses, EDD, these sorts of things...

Did some spicy food put you in a bad mood Doug?

Ok, more old man stories..... Oye, all the fun is over regarding food. I guess I eat half of what I ate in my 40s and I still have trouble keeping my weight down.

Can't help you. I'm not having issues thankfully. Friends are. One guy tried Flomax. The problem is that with it, he started leaking and needs a diaper. He gets up 4-5 times a night. My barber has to stop in the middle of a haircut and go to the bathroom. There is nothing graceful about being old.
