Wildlife Cinematography Master Class

it's nice you did this; felt necessary as part of the body of work

Thanks. Yeah, that about sums it up. I felt compelled to do it. But if I knew how much work it would be and how many hours it would take to shoot, write, edit. etc. I never would have taken it on. But once you get a few hundred hours into a project like this it is too late to stop. I'm burnt out now.
Hopefully I can take some serious wildlife phtographers and get them turned onto shooting video too.

woudl you agree that AF has changed this game?

(not that you dont need field and light craft)

Lenses like the manual 50-1000 canon seem like donkeys to be outperformed by a 400 .56 or sonething.

Yes, absolutely. It is a major topic covered in the workshop. I walk through the relative pros and cons of modern focus-by-wire lenses and older fully-manual telephoto lenses, such as my f/2.8 300mm RED prime. However things have not reached the point where you can just flip a switch to "auto" and let the camera do all the work. You still have to configure the camera properly and then be constantly telling the camera where/why/how to focus on the target you want.
