Once In a blue I get a blinking F-- on my LCD panel.. What does this mean? It wont let me turn on Live View or even take pictures... Should I be worried? Has this happen to you too? How would I fix this.
To add to that make sure you are set to manual if using a non CPU lens - if it can't meter its not going to take pictures in anything but manual mode. Not sure if it will enter LV or not... Mine just lives in manual mode 99% of the time...
I have the same problem with my D90. I use the kit lens, 18-105. It will be working fine, and then it quits working. Sometimes the camera comes back when I turn it off and turn it back on, another time it came back when I switch the setting from macro to A. just now I reseated the lens and it came back.
I bought it at Costco and am within my 90 day return window, but hate to return it.
Well, my Tamron 28-300 3.5 does this whenever I try to do manual aperture with it. What I have to do if I want it fully manual for video is that I go into LV mode, regardless of mode, and then switch the f-stop there. The lens error pops up but I can still take video with it and adjust the aperture to a degree. I know, that doesn't help much, but that's just something I've found.
