Drag Me To Hell - Sam Raimi's New Horror Film!

Cool to see Sam Raimi going back to his roots, and while I thought this trailer looked okay, Harry Knowles over at AICN called the actual movie the single greatest moviegoing experience of his life. Of course, he nearly said the same thing about Roland Emmerich's Godzilla.

I think it looks like it's worth a watch. I'll watch just about any horror/thriller. Plus, it's been a while since I've seen a good ol' curse movie haha

I missed Spiderman when it came out.

I missed Spiderman II when it came out.

When Spiderman III opens we buy tickets to the Arclight and the morning of I sit down with the first two movies, cram them down end-to-end then off to see the third on a theater screen.

I think I may have determined the maximum degree of exposure to Spiderman tolerable in a 12-hour period.

You know, if I'd seen those two movies back-to-back before going to Spiderman 3, I would've not gone to it.

Oh, wait, I saw those two movies when they came out in the theaters, spaced however far apart, and I still didn't go to Spiderman 3. :-BlackEye(DBG

Some things you just don't forget.

So Pierce...let me get this straight. You're not going to go see Drag me to Hell because Sam Raimi was forced to direct the Spiderman movies the way to studio wanted him to, and not how he actually wanted to direct them?

Neither would I, except that the tickets were already purchased.

Actually, Doctor Octopus was pretty cool. The tentacles had a lot of character and Alfred Molina can do no wrong. Otherwise...feh.

Aside from a few tidbits here and there, I thought the first two Spidey movies were great, and fairly faithful to the source. Of course, with the third installment , the fans wanted this, the studio wanted that, and poor Raimi was stuck in the middle. In the end, the audience was the loser. The whole Venom thing should have been stretched out over at least two movies, and not just thrown in as an after thought.

well he wrote it with his brother.... thats all im gonna say what happen to his other writers?

I agree on Molina. But compared to the trailer for this film, where his spidey sense goes off right before a car comes flying through the window....this movie was a severe let-down. Though it's fun to know that I screen some of my films in the theater they used for Doc Ock's lab in the E. Village :)

And Dunst has dead eyes. How she has a career in movies is beyond me.

Oh yeah, and I never got how Doc Ock was trying to create cold fusion when he had already created a sett of arms that plugs right into his spine. Seems that's the bigger invention...all right, enough.

And those eyes look suspiciously familiar.

Curious how you never see them in the same place at the same time.

Those dead eyes worked in Interview, because she was...dead. Besides even a dead-eyedd actor could outshine the massive ham-boning those other two clowns were doing.

I can't say much because I signed an agreement that I wouldn't, but hell yeah. It's brutal, it's intense, it's creepy... and yes, because it's Sam Raimi, it's funny... when it can be. It's a great horror flick, and it's definitely a SR movie, not like SM3 or For the Love of the Game. The story is familiar, especially to 70's horror stories, but man it's unique. I can't wait to see the Theatrical release, that's gotta mean something right? I already saw it for free on the big screen and I'm waiting to pay to see it again!

Am I seriously the first guy here who's seen the finished version? I would have thought there'd be reviews all over the place... what's with the ghost town?

I saw it today. great film felt like evil dead lite. comedy horror. I take back what i said about the raimi bros writing. they should stick to what they know when they write: camp funny horror with good scares. not spiderman.
