EVERYTHING'S EVENTUAL: A Stephen King short story adaptation (Production Diary)

Looks like you might have shot one scene in the ASU library????

Is that the case or is this just a similar interior?

Indeed ESTEBEVERDE we did do a bit of shooting at ASU. We shot in the Noble Library on campus for a day, we did a few exteriors there too.

And I haven't studied in that library for over 16 years and I could pick it out with just one photo!

I only studied there twice but it is a fairly memorable building!

So you are an ASU grad? I will be graduating this semester. This film is actually my senior thesis project for the film school.

That's right. Scottsdale airport, great production value for a great price. We also shot the private plane at Scottsdale Airport too.

The private plane one I was sure had to be at Scottsdale.

I think I have even been in that hangar and maybe even that plane.

From the looks of it I would say you will be getting an A+++++! :)

Thanks. I hope so. But the final grade is not based on preproduction or general awesomeness of production value unfortunately. I have to have this thing cut into something nice to look at and listen to by the first week of May!!! It's a little scary and it freaks me out!

And the professor grading these things has never given an A+ and only 2 A's and a good amount of A-'s. But I suppose that I could be the first A+ for sure!!!

But I have stopped caring about grades (as long as I graduate that is) because I think we may be able to do something with this once King takes a look at it. (fingers crossed)

Do you guys have rights to the material?

What are the limitations?

I have permission to make this film and exhibit it in film festivals and on my personal demo reel. We cannot sell the project unless we get King's ok. He will watch the finished film and hopefully we would have impressed him enough to talk about the film's possible future. A lot is in the air and it is a long shot but what indi features aren't long shots?

Good job, the stills look very impressive!!!

There's a couple of these 'dollar babies' (films of Kings short stories, made with his permission) that made it past the 'demo reel' and 'film festival'-stage:

Frank Darabont's "The Woman In The Room" is the best example. That one even made it onto VHS. Also, Jay Holben's "Paranoid" was the only one that got permission to be made available through the internet for a limited time... I hope you guys can work something out with Stephen King!

This looks fantastic, sir! I love the grabs.

Sure you could, Blaine...
