I really like the images this camera makes.

Fun. Nice rig.

It's always interesting to see what would be plugged into the back of that mic. That's a challenge at this point. At the moment, I am thinking of running to a Zoom. What are you doing about audio?

Hey yes I see some people have already answered a few of the questions. yes the matte box is from gear dear and its the HVX version. I used a hacksaw and a file along with some metal, screws and bolts to modify it, mostly by the rail system, to elevate it higher.

The lens in the picture is actually the 24-70 2.8L. This lens works great. I would also recommend the 24-105 f4.0 that comes with the 5D mkII kit. I don't own this lens, but if you use this camera for video, the extra zoom will be valuable. Even though its an f 4.0, this camera is so good with the full frame sensor you will still get plenty of shallow depth of field, even at 4.0. :)

lastly, I have cable to go from XLR to mini stereo, for the mic to pick up on monday. It should work. The onboard mic sounds good, but picks up any movement on the lens. this is a great camera.

I don't understand anyway how people seem to think that f/4 may give too much depth of field. I remember reading on Cinematography.com that most interiors for motion pictures are lit for f/4 or f/2.8.
And due to the sensor size, f/4 on the 5D gives shallower depth of field than f/4 on 35mm film anyway.

I am interested in hearing how your XLR to mini sounds.

I have used a few in the past and would just say make sure they use good shielded cable and are wired nicely and aren't too long.

It will be interesting to see and here your footage!
