Nice film. Solid and effective. Good production values overall, shot well, consistent flow and edit, very specific shot choice, well directed and a good story to boot. Like the creative approach you took on 'loss'.
That scene with him and his friend, handing over the post it notes was my favorite.
Tech wise, I noticed this strange humming sound... (generator in the background?) I couldn't figure it out... but it didn't take me out of your story.
A very effective short comedy. Looking forward to more of your work in the future!
And I agree with the comments so far, cute, funny, good job in front of the camera, I can't imagine adding that to doing everything else as well. Look forward to seeing more form you!
Really nice job here. I had a good time watching this. It had a lot of polish. The actors were all excellent and the lead played perfectly in this comedic, light story. The tech stuff is all good except for that annoying speck on your lens. Who cares? You get high praise from me.
Hey Alex. You pretty much nailed the teen comedy genre here. Concept and story were spot on. You pulled off the lead character with ease. Perfect music. Some good cinematography and lighting in there. There isn't anything that I can think of that hasn't been said. I enjoyed it. Good job!
On a side note, I like your production company bumper.
I really liked the opening scene where he does tha push ups.
The lighting from down below was abit too much in my book- also the use of zebras could prevent blowouts. Plus you got a bug sitting on your lens.
Alex, this was clever and fun. I think it could have been tightened up a bit, as mentioned above, but it was a great effort - way to keep it nice and simple and still entertaining.
It's LATE, but I made a commitment to watch, rate, and comment on all the films before nights end. At this point, I've only got time to watch & rate, so I'm simply letting you know I've done so for yours.
If you'd like a specific review of your film, please just PM me to catch my attention, and I'd be glad to come back here & post a review.
Really great job. I enjoyed it thoroughly. I thought your framing was very nice, the pace was good. If it wasn't for the beautiful colors of the sunset in the last scene I'd almost suggest seeing how it works as a black and white (I say that because of the dramatic somewhat one directional lighting during the indoors stuff at the beginning, almost reminds me of a noir flick). I'm a sucker for a sweet ending, I think because I can never come up with one myself. I do kind of wish at the very end when he's facing the audience we could've heard him very softly say something, even just a little "yes" or something equally simple and cheesy. But all in all good work, especially for a one man operation. Fine tune some of the technical mumbo jumbo on your next project, because at the core of it you have some good ideas and that's what counts.
I love this one. Very nice idea. The acting of the boy was exceptional, thinking that he probably is very young. The acting of the girl unfortunately wasn't that good and a little rigid. Above all very enjoyable.
