Both are capable of full-raster 1920x1080 imaging and recording.
The HPX300 has an interchangeable lens, so you could mount different lenses on there. I don't remember if the stock Fujinon has macro or not.
If you're comparing recording format to recording format, there's no question that AVC-Intra is dramatically superior to XDCAM-EX.
AVC-Intra is going to be a big deal because of the resolution. DVCPro HD, which is also 4:2:2 and intraframe, is 1280x1080, which means that a 1:1.19 image has to be streached out to 1:1.77. XDCAM-EX has a giant leg up on resolution over DVCPro HD, AVC-Intra at full raster makes it tougher for Sony.

but that's your opinion. :violent5:
60min of AVC-Intra will take up three times the GB of 60min of XDCAM-EX. If you are limited on storage space, then XDCAM-EX is superior.

For some reason the "full HD" battle for consumers seems to enter the tv business to, both regarding codecs AND sensors...This brings me to your bad argument: the DVCProHD codec is not bad resolution wise. HDCam is 1440x1080 and any HDCAm camera kicks the EX-1´s butt on EVERY POSSIBLE situation.
