"MODEL / PHOTOGRAPHER" - an ELOQUENT GRAFFITI prelude – a film by SABI

uploading soon... here's my synopsis...

An observational film about a young DJ/model seeking to make amends with her most recent ex-boyfriend by enlisting him to photograph her for her portfolio. She regrets the pain she has caused him and genuinely hopes to foster a new friendship between them. He wants nothing less than to be back in the presence of the girl that knew him, and hurt him, like no other. This is a prelude to the feature-length motion picture ELOQUENT GRAFFITI.

UP-loaded. now I can relax, right?

oh wait, people are going to watch and comment, that's right. bracing for impact....

it is a bit relaxing just to know the film is in. i'm not too worried about the feedback, because my film is perfect. no, actually i'm looking forward to it because i need all the pointers i can get if i wanna start getting better at this.

i like your synopsis, zak, also really like the title to your future flick, Eloquent Graffiti. looking forward to seeing your entry, man!

just spoke to a writer at filmmaker magazine. they want to interview me for a story they are doing on filmmakers using DSLRs to shoot features. haha! ridiculous.

That being said, I don't know how well it's going to be received. Although I've abandoned the wildly searching handheld camera that earned most of IFHY's criticism, this film will be even more minimalist in plot than IFHY. A lot of info is left for the viewer to contemplate and fill in on their own. it will be a highly subjective experience and depend greatly on whether or not you personally relate to these characters and if that resonates with you in a meaningful way. This is short-short fiction along the lines of Raymond Carver

I'm really looking forward to this film. I loved IFHY and I am a massive Raymond Carver fan. In fact, I've tried to do something similarly internal and personal with my own entry. Hopefully, there are a lot of fans of Raymond Carver out there. :)

I'm amazed how fast you put this MO PHO together. It must be great to have an editor. {envy}

i never thought i could live with having someone else cut my films, but as long as it's someone you're on the same frequency with, their objective view of the material is invaluable. they don't come to it weighted with all the things you "intended" to shoot which can mess with your perception of how it will be received.
