Shadow of the Demon Knight

Hi all!

A local securityguard faces his greatest challenge at the train yard. Has all the training been worth it or could he have just relied on energydrinks?

http://www.vimeo.com/3508584

This was shot with 4 different cameras. A Canon HV20, canon xh a1, sony hc1 for all the outside shots and then a JVC ProHD camera with a dof adapter for the inside shots.

Any comments appreciated!

I'm going to download it because it's choppy on Vimeo, but is The Mute going to be a feature. That looked real good.

Pretty cool.

As a martial arts film, it was good, very well done. As a film film... it was so-so. Not much for a storyline, and the storyline that was there just felt like filler. Personally I feel that either just do a full out martial arts film, or try to build a really good story around it, nothing in between. But that's just me. Also what was in the energy drinks? It was mentioned in the description, and at the beginning of the film. Is that what turns them into vampires? Hard to make that connection.

Why were they wearing EA shirts? I thought maybe it was a promo for EA at first.

The film was a tad too long IMO. A fight, if it's going to last that long (which normally fights will only last 30 seconds long), it has to at least develop. All that developed was that there's more vampires to come by.

Could have been better. Although I gotta admit, the fighting and cinematography were great.

Thanks man, appreciate the comments and the critique and agree with them somewhat. It really needed a story and we actually had one planned but for different reasons all of them were cut out. You can see snippets of the stuff we shot after the end credits.

That's just it, IMO, the film doesn't NEED a story. The way the fight is designed, it's just about the fight, no matter how much story you try and put. If you add even more of a story, again, it'll feel like it's just filler.

When it constitutes a story is when the story needs a fight scene, not a fight scene that needs a story.

If you want to do some big blown fight scene, just leave it as a fight scene. No one wants to watch filler, just get to the good stuff.

Plus the main guy really bugged me.

But hey, it's just my opinion. Like I said, there are a lot of good things about it.
