I just couldn't pass up a deal for a wide angle and 2X converter. Both for $169.

yeh thats horrible. oh well...u live and learn. Hop over to the screenshots area where Nonoob has footy of his tele adapter for under $100. actually he says it was a bundle (both tele and wide) His footy looks good! :)
 
The tele convertor is intended to use to extend your zoom, not intended to be used wide. Zoom in and see what it looks like. But based on the fringing and vignetting on the wide angle adaptor, it probably won't look great.
 
The Tele converter is zoomed all the way in. I found that I could use the wide angle by zooming in a bit and/or scaleing the footage in AE a bit. Certainly not optimum though.

Just want to say the tele converter I'm depicting is a type that will, at wider settings, give you the 'barrel effect'.
That's where you see the lens barrel when shooting wide.

When zoomed in, to take advantage of the reach it gives, there is no barrel effect.
 
i think the blur on the side with your tele converter could look cool for some effect. if i ever get one, i am going to take advantage of it. do all 2X telephoto lenses do that or only your's. if its only yours can i have the make and model?
 
There made by Zeikos , a company in China. They have a website, I think USA. I bought them from an EBay store, Digital Sales Online. It's all crappy stuff but the guy is cool. He's sending me anoth 2X converter that he thinks will work and if I like it then send him the money. Your right about the effect. Looks like somebody dreaming or on drugs.
 
ya because i have seen there special matte box adapters that you can shake and it does that but it moves it a little. i have always tried to create that effect but the only add on lens i have is a century optics .3x ultra fisheye. i am going to go down to a store here in la called evs and ill check some tele lens out and test them.
 
I'm going to keep the wide angle. It's .45 X and looks cool if you zoom in some.

I've always wanted to go down to the Wedge on a big day with the DVX. That's why I'm getting the 2X.

Man, you gotta post some footy from the DVX of the Newport Wedge,,, that would be sick!
