Scary film Look. HOW?

greetings too all,

I have an HVX200a
and I'm trying to achieve the look that some scary films use for their violent shots.
An example would be the opening of Saving Privet Ryan. Or even better Feast 2.
I'm shooting film mode 720 24pn 180 degree shutter at 24 frames

I do not want to under crank the film because I need to capture audio at the same time as the shot.

Can any one with this camera give me advice on what I should be doing?
I'm pretty sure It's a play on the shutter but there is limited choices on the shutter button by the LCD and I do not see much change in using the syncro scan that suppose to act like a shutter in film cam mode. Maybe I'm wrong about that.

I have only been looking at the testing I'm doing in camera.

thank you to who ever response.

Cheers

Make sure your shutter is set to film cam mode. First set up your scene file; for a saving private ryan look I'd say use CinelikeD with the cine matrix, lower the master ped to anywhere from -4 to -6, and lower your chroma a bit. Then make sure your shutter is in film cam mode. On your scene file under synchro scan change the angle to say 90 or if you want to be even more extreme, 45 degrees.
Then nagivate out of the menus, press the shutter button on the inside of your LCD and then press the Speed Sel buttons + or - to navigate between the different shutter choices, stop when you hit the one that is in degrees. (This is your synchro scan)

This should give you that stroby no motion blur, frozen dirt look ala saving private ryan or gladiator.

Unless I'm thinking of the wrong look?
