WTB: Vidlight (any kind) OR Litepanel

I'm looking for a Vidlight, or Litepanel. (i know there is quite a price difference, but i'm open to either)

I have a shoot in a cave, and need something lightweight, with portable power to attach to my HVX.

the brighter the better I guess. I need to get something in my hands by the 11th of this month.

I'd be paying with Paypal
(i'm shooting with an HVX200)

Thanks Leo

I can't easily tell, but can this mount on the camera?

I'll be hanging from a rope 100ft down a pit entrance into a cave, and then IN the cave, so I'll need something that is light, and powered easily.

Ah, they look like they are small, but not small enough. BUT, it's something to think about for other cave shots.

They're fairly small; about 8"x8"; here's a mobile rig with one mounted on it:

The spots have slightly better photometrics as an Arri 650 tungsten...

Cheers,

I own that coollight LED 600 in the above mentioned photo (thanks, Leo!). It works great mounted on a large camera but I would not recommend it atop an HVX or similar sized camera, especially if you are in confined areas (caves !). Too heavy, too big.
Smallest, lightest LED light might be the Litepanel Micro that runs off AA batts. I own the larger LitePanel Mini w/battery holder for 2 HVX batts, but even that is too heavy if mounted on the HVX sized cameras. Maybe I'm a weakling, but my arms get tired with all that weight up front.
Of course, you could detach the batteries/holder, place them in your pocket/pouch/etc and just run an extension cable to the light. That would make the rig much lighter.
Or you could use LED headlamps or flashlights mounted to your camera or helmet that would illuminate whatever you are looking at. That would be cheap/practical.
LED lights mini/micro generally work best close to subject and light falls off rapidly with distance.
The Coollight 600 w/attached battery would work really well in a cave if mounted on a stand or if someone could handhold it for you as you shot. It actually puts out a lot of light as Leo mentioned.

Thanks for the help Leo and Mr Monkey.

My plan now is 2 VidLEDs (already have two from a DVXuser) and if the funding comes through in time, and the LED600s are still in stock, I'll buy 2 LED600s and have assistants place them in specific spots. (it's a deep pit that opens to a deep cave)

If funding doesn't come through, then just the VidLEDs will have to do, which will be a bummer, but not terrible.

=)
