The short version is that somebody on DVinfo bought this same item two weeks ago but never got it. The final post in that thread sums it up:

"So just how many different people can buy the same Jib at the same time?"

Seems like there are more buyers than there are items for sale, and so far all of the "buyers" say they haven't recieved anything except for "a tracking number but it only said billing information was sent to UPS."

There is more than one tracking number out. Shipping weights seem to match description.

If there is more than one item available it would make a lot of sense.
 
Ok, sorry, but somethings not gelling well with this and I'll be the dickbag to start.

Assuming you're ganna show your face here again greg, whats the deal? A little clarification before you get a mess of people really pissed off.

I'd really like to know whats going on here, so who is getting jib's and who's money are you just running off with, hmmm?

Well, before Greg deleted his posts in this thread early in the morning, it said there were two cranes for sale. There are at least three people who say they've bought these cranes.

I didn't buy anything here, but I can do the math.

OPZ asked for the Cliff's Notes and I obliged. I'm sure Greg has a side to this story as well, but doesn't seem to be talking even though he was online hours ago.
 
I PM them 3-4 days ago and ask if one was still available and got a "yes" back then right after that is when people started asking where their crane was. The first buyer PM'ed back saying beware. That's all I know.
 
I bought one of his cranes a few weeks ago, and after checking it out, decided that it doesn't suit me (the HVX200 is too heavy to tilt effectively, although the jib does support the camera's weight.)

If you have a lighter camera like a DVX100 this is probably a good little jib but you may be disappointed if you try anything heavier.

FWIW he did ship pretty promptly.

I'm selling my jib (no stand, but I can point you to the proper stand at Guitar Center for about $35). If anyone is interested, please email or PM me for details.
 
I hope Greg reads this and decides to clarify the situation.

It looks like he has been pretty active here and sometimes things can get out of hand fast when selling multiple items.

Hopefully that is the case but either way it would behoove Greg to post here very soon.

this guy is a crook. dont buy anything from him. i paid for jib and received nothing and he returns no calls or emails.
 
I know that things can get out of hand with online orders and such but this is not one of those cases. I thoroughly enjoy this thread and for the msot part everyone seems honest on this thread that being said let me explain my situation.
Firstly i was looking for an affordable jib for my indie feaures and other production and so i cam across the jib that Greg is selling. I contacted him and sent him a paypal payment. At first things seemed to make sense as he sent me a tracking number and such, however after several days the tracking number remained at billing. After contacting ups several times it became apparent that there was an issue with said package. I tried contacting Greg and after a couple days he contacted me. He claimed that there was an issue with the label and that he was going to UPS to straighten the whole thing out. Addionally he claimed that he would provide me with a tracking number and overnight the package. The package was now due to arrive Friday, Feb 20th. Well as of now he has not contacted me with the tracking number, his phone is turned off, and he hasnt responded to my emails. I don't know exactly what is going on here but common sense dictates that either Greg is not very effective at dealing in customer service or he is ripping people off. UPS has already shipped and there is no crane in my living room nor do i believe that there ever was a crane. I've disputed this and should get my money back but the issue still remains that this guy appears to not be honest. I wanted to warn others as he is selling toher gear. In addition, he is selling this crane on several different fronts ie craigslsit, and dvi. It also appears that more people have purchased this crane that there are products, so unless he is selling six cranes, this is a scam of some sort. I'm not doing this to flame a person and i relaly wanted this crane to be a real deal as i needed it for a film project this weekend but that isnt the case. I guess the moral of the story is if you want something without risk, the best idea is to buy from a reputable dealer. Thanks for everyones time. [/QUOTE]
 
And with that, I'm opening up a dispute as well.

My story is just I'm building up equipment for when I graduate college this year I can start a small business locally. Saw this deal and what seemed to be a legit sell, guess it wasn't.
 
Seems like the guy was selling some of these jibs legit (I bought one), then flaked out at some point. Sad to see things like that happening.

As I mentioned above and in another thread, I'm selling the one that I bought from Greg, as it doesn't handle the heavier cameras (HVX200) as well as I'd like. $115 shipping included to CONUS. No stand, but the stand is just a standard Guitar Center speaker stand that you can buy for $35 bucks or so. PM or email me if interested.
 
I asked for a chargeback from paypal just friday and he gave them the tracking number that he gave me. This just means he printed a label but never gave the package to UPS. Paypal immediately gave me the option to escalate to highest which means something is wrong with his account or he is flagged already. Looks like life got bad for him or he went fraudulent either way I should get my money back. I did report him to DVXUSER and they emailed him. It could be a very honest mistake but too many of us with the same problem makes him look bad either way.
 
I bought one of his jibs off DVX user and it shipped promptly and arrived as described.

The return address on the package was from 'Carla Edmondson" in Marietta, GA., and also that was the name on the paypal account I sent money to.

The seller emailed me Feb 16 offering to sell a doorway dolly. In my contact with him, the email from: line has been "Clevision Motion Pictures" with an email address of bloodabductionsmovie (at) live.com

A little googling turned up "CleAndrew Smith" and IncMedia as more names associated with this person/group. Both his gregwilliams2175 user name on dvxuser and the user name IncMedia on dvxuser have lengthy histories of posts that indicated he was legitimately involved in film making.

I hope something unforseen has happened to him and not that he has gone bad.
 
Well on the 18th it was submitted to UPS, I JUST checked it and it says billing information received.

All I want is my money back or the jib. That's it. I'm a really simple person to please.
 
I admit that I am shipping a little slow, because of work and my recent sickness (Flu)

I've worked while being sick as well, yes it does suck, but the sheer lack of communication shown is unreal. It takes no effort to hop on the computer for 30 seconds to type up a response saying that you don't feel good so shipping will be slow.

I'm a pretty easy to please person, all I want is the jib OR my money back. That's it.

No harm, no foul.
