Okay so ive read and searched the forum, but cannot get a hold of Luis Sinibaldi...ive tried going to website, PM ing him, and even calling the number listed on the site....But no luck? I really want to get my hand on one of those Firewire saver for my HVX as a preventitive measure...if anybody has his direct contact can you please have him contact me thru here...

or if somebody has a spare one they would like to sell i am interested...

My second question is what is the Difference between the HPX 170 vs 171 (outside of the 171 being the european version and is switchable from NTSC to PAL? )? Anyother big differences? Pro's vs Con's? :thumbup:I have seen that the HPX171 can be bought for roughly $3800 and would really be interested in getting one at this price...

3 years ago i bought an HVX205A from overseas and haven't had 1 issue with it. It has BEEN GREAT! and i saved some money! I figured i could use this same approach with the HPX171 ( and this one should be a bit more reliable since it has no moving parts ie. MiniDV Tape) ...

Plus i dont use p2 cards since i own three 250GB Firestores....which i really love and haven't been a problem for me outside of 1 of the HD burning out, which i easily replaced....

Anyways sorry for the long rant but any information you can provide me with would greatly be appreciated... Along with some links to some decent priced HPX's 171...Thanks...

The 171 is the European version, and all warranty service would be from Europe. The 170 is the American version and warranty service would be performed by the USA. The 171 is switchable NTSC/PAL, and the 170 is not but can be upgraded to switchability.

Barry is so modest ... if you order from the US you also get Barry's book included. Not so from Europe.

I am also trying to get hold Luis. But not for a firewire saver. Already have one. I'm interested in the stuff he has for the firestore. Bigger hard drives. Also want to ask him about putting in a SSD when they get cheaper and bigger. Seems the industry is starting with the 2.5 drive size which is what goes in the FS-100. he can reach me at randy09660@hotmail.com
