First off, welcome aboard. Your artwork is amazing, and you did an excellent job for your first time out. I think you might have a future in this.

How did you do that opening landscape shot? Was that CG or multiple layered plates? It looked awesome. Nice work on the VFX.

Capt Quick: Thx! Yeah for a first one I'm happy. Working very hard to get this happen. But what is kool is I have a basic equipment and most of my friend are actors, so that help a lot to continue with out betting the farm!

Geoff_R: Yeah it is CGI, thx!

Any chance you could explain a little on how it was achieved? Is it all 3D from maya, c4d? Or a combination of 3d elements plus 2d background matte work comped in nuke, shake, etc. It's an awesome shot, would love to know more.

GEOFF_R: Yeah sure! It was made in Softimage XSI and comp in Combustion. It's 50% geometry and 50% matte painting. 4 artist worked on it. They are some friends I worked with in the pass few years in different VFX studios.

I like it but have to say that the look of the matte painting is totally out of place to the look of the rest of the film.

Mcgeedigital: Thx for your comment:). But I will like you to explain why you feel is totally out of place. Because for me all the movie look comic videogame like, and I feel it's blending quit ok.

The coolest part was when the guy goes for the head shot, shoots the dude in the head and it goes, "BULLETPROOF!"

That was my favorite part.

ChipG: Nope! Now I'm working in video games for Activision as a lead Animator. Working in movies as a CGI artist demand commitment, Its hard work and long hours. If I want to continue with filmmaking, I need somthing more relax and stable.

Aurantaurant: Yeah best part for most people... I think it's my best part to :)

Thanks for the info!

Very cool man, I like your work. Great sound design and artistic quality. I especially like all the props you created, that ninja mask is really cool. If you're going to expand upon this I'd recommend experimenting a bit more with camera angles and framing. I'm very big into composition. Your lighting is very good as well. Keep up the good work =)

Gandalfrodo: Thx, I appriciate. Camera angle and framing was a big chalange on this project, because the set was so small and limited. Was easy to frame a light spot, a wood stick who old a set part. But on my next project it's all about framing, lighting, edditing and wrting. No VFX and stylish stuff. :)

Romane19: HEHE I was thinking the same thing! Hope one day It will expand to somthing bigger.
