Butterflies in the Wind in pursuit of happiness

Yeah Vic that's better. I'd include even more shots from the movie still. Him driving in the car -- that one shot you have of the two people sitting on the balcony toward the beginning of the movie. Also isn't there a part where they're at a club and someone is singing or playing music? The shots with the high production value.

It's looking better.

Aha, thanks for the specifics. Yeah, I get the point. I might have to make the trailer longer, but still maintain tightness and pace. This is really great -- thanks, fellas!

I'm looking for a good piece of music to cut my new BUTTERFLIES IN THE WIND trailer to. I'm going to try it sometime today and hopefully I'll be able to post it tonight.

I'll check it out when I get home so I can get sound and everything. I like the editing.

Much, Much better. Goodjob Filmman.

Now that we are here, let's give a few more ideas to get to version 9 LOL

Maybe move the text at the end.
Add some text of your taglines : "what happends when your life goes out of control..." (or whatever)
Maybe more scenic shots or just shots of action not just talking.
Go to video co-pilot and get their sound fx DVD. Then you can add a few fx. Sound is about 40% of the experience. You can up the whole thing, by a few subtle sfx.

But great job!

Thanks JLS4! Version 9, here we go!

Hey again,

This is much better, I think this is the best one you've cut yet. I think adding those sounds would help a lot, I also think more action in the middle part of the trailer, less dialogue as jls4 said. The first part of the trailer drew me right in I think it just needs a bit more of a boost mid way through. Looks good though!

Personally I think the music works fine, but I would also try something else, perhaps something a little more strange, a little more ambient, just to see the difference between the two. I like the momentum at the start, perhaps you could use two music tracks? Look at bands like Mercury Rev and Air, etc. Then maybe try find something in the genre that's by a smaller indie band, there's lots of that kind of thing out there. Something to try and compare, anyway. I think ending on a more eerie, ambient feel would work better, something more disconnecting, something curious - leaving us to linger with your last shot. Just an idea to try.

Wow, that was awesomely better. The story unfolds very well. I like the acting and the mood. Love the accent of the woman reading from the Bible.

Hey Vic I'm not getting a visual on this one just audio and a picture of your poster/something? The other ones have worked fine for me.

I tried it in Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer and it plays in all of them.

Do you see an arrow in the middle of the picture frame?

There should also be a console at the bottom of the picture for you to click on. Please let me know if you can still make it work or find out why it's not working.

Thanks, Chris.

You may want to keep the music going or fade it out, it ends so abruptly. The last shot is just funny, so you may want to take that out, LOL. So far trailer 8 seemed to be box office gold.

I guess I went overboard on version 9. There is such a thing as over-editing.LOL But maybe I took the wrong tack. I'll go to version 10 and hopefully conclude this experiment: editing a trailer with worldwide feedback.LOL Only at DVXuser group can one do this! Thanks for commenting and helping me find another way....
