rendering 1080 to 720 in Vegas

Hey! I'm scene posts about this topic before but they were more technical than my issue is and more knowledgeable than I am.

Original project is 1440 x 1080 at 23.976p. It does not and never has had a 2-3 pulldown (shot on a cannon xh-a1 at 24f)

I am looking to render for a projector that can display up to 720p. The guy I am giving this to will take the file on a USB drive, so I don't have to burn anything now. The guy asked for an MPEG2 file, data rate about 12mbps he said was fine.

I'm inserting a pic of the settings I'm using to render. I already rendered under VBR and CBR, which is best? or suggested?

Does this look like the best bet for me? Or other suggestions?
I am using Vegas 7.0e (Build 216)

I did render a minute of footage and there seemed to be pixelation in shadows, especially the darker areas ... right where the shadow really starts to turn dark. Other than that this setting looks very nice.

Thanks for the feedback!

I'm no expert, but I'd change output type to mpeg2, Max BPS to 15k, 12k average, min 10k, level to high.

Not sure why he wants an mpeg2 but whatever.

Also, as i'm not sure where you live, but in the description, it's set up for 25 fps mpeg2 file, but you're template is 24p? just making sure this is/isn't intentional.

Sorry about that skinny! ... that was a default description. I neglected to change it, my bad.
Escondido, nice! I used to live near there a long time ago.

Perrone, I'm not exactly sure why he is asking for that format. I know the other posting similar to this was yours .... any other suggestion? I can find out what he in burning and his intended format if that will help.
