California's aren't use to cold weather!!!

It's only like 50F outside and I swear you see less people out cuz we think it's like freezing cold! I didn't go for a walk today, instead I cleaned house cuz it was a lot warmer to do, jeez, what would happen to me if I knew what real cold weather was like?

It's like that tv show the O.C. when the father said, it's cold outside, it's in the 70s!

Winter bites.

It was 60% here in Chicago and people thought it was spring. Today was a 439 degree day and people were pretty happy. Our coldest day was about 30 below 0 with the wind chill. Aside from living in Alaska or one of the poles, until you've been through a Chicago winter you don't know cold. I do have a friend who wants to move out there, she's an actress but also she simply can't take the weather here.

Yeah, I remember a few times back in college in the Midwest when it would spike up to the mid 30's w/sunshine and people were out in t-shirts.

Where do you live, planet Mercury?

Yes and it's very hot. LOL. It was a 39 degree day today.

On one of the coldest days (think below zero) there was a guy jogging in shorts. But he did have gloves and a hat on though.

After this January, I've realized that I can handle anything. There were days when I would look at the forecast and say to myself, "****, the wind chill is only -15, that's not so bad." There were seriously several days where the wind chill was -40 to -50. It was crazy cold. We're finally getting out of that now, because February has been fairly mild with temps in the 20s and 30s. It seems tropical compared to what we had earlier this year.

I think Chicago broke some records for the coldest day as well as the warmest winter day (about 60 degrees I think for one day).

Why does everyone not from California have this idea in their minds that everyone in California is fit, tanned and in shape? As a lifelong Californian, I call B.S.

Go to Disneyland or any shopping mall in SoCal and you will see just as many pasty, fat and out of shape people as you do in the South or Midwest. The only fit, tanned people are the actors or wannabees.

Common misconception.

Disneyland is full of fat Midwesterners on vacation. ;)

Seriously though, while not everyone in CA is ripped, people here do tend to have healthier, more active lifestyles than people in the South and Midwest.

Because everyone in Cali is fit, beautiful and tanned, don't believe me? Go take a walk down Pacific Palisades park, this is where you'll see scenes from "Monk" "Private Practice" "Entourage" and trust me, spandex reigns supreme.

Only people who are chunky are out-of-towners.

I can remember during our winters as soon as that hint of spring was in the air, off went the jacket. It's funny cos it's the opposite come The Fall.

I love this Onion article - http://www.theonion.com/content/node/28382 -

As a Canadian that visits the States 1-2 times a year, I can say that obesity is very
noticeable. Seriously, the size of food portions are just ridiculous. Everything is so cheap, from liquour to smokes to fast food. Also, everything has bacon or the option to have bacon on it.
