Remote follow focus for £150/$300

Just saw the specification sheet over on the website. Very nicely put together. Getting more and more excited for the final product.

Another update:

I have had quite a lot of interest at the show, and it looks like a distribution deal might be on the table. Not sure yet.

Either way, I have been testing the hofo in extreme weather conditions. Just had it in the freezer for ten hours, the case measured -7/8deg C, all works perfectly.

Its just thawing out....

Pete.

The waiting list is for the product, not the price. It is obviously higher than the original cost, but its still a good deal. The old waiting list is still valid though.

any time frame on this? I just got some extra cash and i'd love to add this to the list of gear i'm looking at picking up.... I should be pretty high on that waiting list if i'm not mistaken. Eagerly waiting for some updates.

such decisions... should i convert my aussie dollars into $300 US or 150 Pounds... hmmm well i suppose i'll choose the conversion rates that were in place at the beginning of this thread. 98 cents on the US dollar = yay. not a bad deal peter

JUST KIDDING lol i laughed

Good work. I can tell you've spent considerable time in this venture.

Out of curiosity how many degrees does a Panasonic DVX100 focus go? Thanks.

This is more of a project for 35mm lenses than for cameras I'd say. There are already options out there for DVX100, HPX170, HVX200(A), and a slew of other cameras controls.... Go Varizoom and other LANC makers!

I see the Hocus Focus being useful with 35mm lenses (photo or cine) on adapters, on film cameras, on REDs, and I also seeing it being used with cameras like the EX-1 and EX-3 that have geared focus rings.

I dont know, for Steadicam, even with just a bare 1/3" camera it could have its uses. A majority of the time I get by without it but there are those weird times when a wireless FF could still be useful. Toss Zacuto's repeatable gears on there and you are gold with the HVX.

If I remember right, the HVX has about 270 degrees between min and max focus distances, would imagine the dvx is about the same.

Yeah lots is happening at the HoFo HQ. Just sent the final drawings for the proper motor mounts off. Will have the rapid prototypes back soon...
