Looking for recommendations on how to get Sony ex1 "Soft" look??

What's up all. I wanted to ask if anyone knew of a technique/way to get an hvx200a to look similar to the picture of a Sony ex1. Basically, I have a particular shoot coming up, but I need the soft kind of look that the ex1 delivers, opposed to the super-clear-cut look that my hvx delivers. I know I can do this in post, but I was hoping I didn't have to. Someone suggested I use a soft lens filter, but can anyone suggest one in particular? I know some may suggest that I just rent an ex1 for the shoot, but I'm reluctant due to the few negative CMOS affects that the camera brings. If anyone has any suggestions for the soft ex1 look, I'd totally appreciate it. Thanks

I always thought people said the ex 1 was sharp and panasonic was "panasonic soft"...
anyways, I dont have an HPX 170 but there should be a way to lower the detail level or sharpness? in the scene files? maybe?

its funny. from what ive heard, most consider the sony way sharper than the panasonic.

if you have to ask this question, i think youre very ill advised to try to achieve the look in camera. shoot the highest, cleanest you can in cam and do the styling in post. there are SOOO many post/film look plug ins that will get you what you want...
