Removal of NOISE and MACRO BLOCKS from HVX and DVX footage solved!!!!!!!

Still torn if I should buy this now, or wait for the FCP version.

It doesn't help that Im getting laid off and that 100 bucks would be helpful to go towards keeping health insurance!

I did not think of using it this way. It makes sense. Taking every bit of noise from the image makes it look plastic-like. Making an adjustment layer then dialing in the opacity until it's right seems like a really good balance. Thanks for sharing the info.

No problem. Once I get this movie off my butt, I'll update the 24 Diary with all the secrets that I learned from making it. Lots of post production stuff and I'll also start posting stills. (I actually might do that before I finish)

You need to do that. I always check for what you are doing.

WHY THE HELL DOES IT 3 HOURS to run Neatvideo across a 6 minute clip!!! Is this normal? I have a PowerPC G5 with 4 gigs of RAM. It's getting kind of long in the tooth. But 6 hours, wow. Am I doing something wrong here? any insight would be helpful.

I feel you. Health insurance is waaaaay more important. But you have to weigh the fact that Health Insurance is just not as clear as HD video with neat video applied. HMMMM.

It sucks you are getting laid off. Times are bad for a lot of us right now. If you need a job I am starting a male escort service if you are interested.:Drogar-Smoke(DBG):

Okay, I rarely jump on bandwagons about anything. But I really need to say that this is the best $100 bucks I have spent in a while (not counting the Gold Club, but that's another story). I must sing the praises of Neatvideo. My wife saw the final mix of the Puppeteer and was like "gotdamn, that looks incredible"

Buy it, use it, especially if you have the HVX200 or DVX. It makes a world of difference. Won't make my film any better, but it sure is cleaner.

Yeah, it takes forever to run. For me I'm running over scenes (avg 2 to 3 minutes) and I go watch a movie and come back! LOL (2 Core 2.0Ghz 64Bit / 2GB of RAM / PC)

Thanks for checking in. but yeah, I'll be posting some things soon.

I have the V1U and it makes a world of difference there. I heard about a guy who does wedding videos. He says he leaves the computer to render the whole wedding (litterally an hour or more of footage) over the weekend and it comes out looking like he was at gain 0 or 3, where he really was at 12 to 18. It makes a huge difference for any production. Now you guys need to see the power of $200 Colorista!

I bought this pluggin and already using it and now realise can't live without it, I also realised that for some reason after applying neat video skin tones look very nice, as if they were photoshoped and it gets rid of all the facial imperfection, maybe its a by product of the sofening of the image, I will post some grabs to show what I mean. Now my clients want neat video on all their footages weather noise is available or not due to the improvement of the image particular the skin tones.

Sweet glad you guys are loving the benefits of this little cheap tool.

I've almost finished my short film BackRoad and every shot that has a greenscreen I have used Neatvideo. I have to say its darn impressive. I loved my HVX202EN when I bough it but with Neat I love it even more

I have to admit this is the only down side of neatvideo. But hey you always lose something when you gain something. I guess at the end of the day if you throw Neatvideo on every clip you will pay with render time. I wonder if it can be used wth an After Effects render farm

FCP final lock and graded picture, automatic duck to AE, final sharpening with neatvideo. Render out, you have a workflow. i wish automatic duck wasn't so expensive...

I tried out the Demo on a piece of really noisy video and it worked great. I had tried this before on the same clip with another product and it took all the detail out of the clip. Neat Video Works!
