SGPro Blade Review

JUJU factory,

Please hold your horses a bit before you go spreading rumors about CA based on one trial clip that we don't know much about at all.
We've had so many misstatements about adapters in the past, lets not g back to that BS. Wait till people get a chance to really evaluate their footage please.

G I V E M E A B R E A K!!!

As far as I understand, Letus Extreme has a backfocus problem while GBlade has a Chromatic Aberration with the EX1 problem. Both go for about the same price.

im in about the same place as you with all this...if i didnt own an ex1 my money would be on a blade by now...but i do.

Its not bs rumours..wayne blamed the ca on the difficult optics of the ex1....hes right it has different setup. Blade footage from all other cameras is perfect.

We should start a thread dedicated to best adapter for ex1.

edit

And I have if anyone wishes to contribute.

yay!

it's here! didn't have time to test it, but is lighter than extreme, build seems to
be better than extreme, not talking about packaging and instructions, where
letus is years off without any proper packaging and not talking manual (at least i
didn't get any a year ago).

Hope to see the image tonight later!

I shot some stuff yesterday with Blade and EX1 and didn't notice any CA.

Philip, how does the edge to edge sharpness look like to you on the Blade? Would you have an opinion how it compares to Letus Extreme with the EX1 achromat. Im thinking about trading my LEX for the Blade and this is my only concern at the moment. Unfortunately I cant afford to keep both which would be ideal.

someone please shoot a chart. it takes about 5 secs to shoot and about 10 mins to screen grab and post... will answer these question.

Cool stuff, if you can do some with different lenses, apertures etc.

I look forward to it.:beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer:

SG Blade is quite a bit cheaper, certainly to us in the UK. Main thing though is that SG Blade is spinning glass like the letus Ultimate and NOT vibrating glass which limits apeture settings.

As for CA, yet to hear anything about that. Pretty sure it will be mentioned in the next week if there was a problem. My guess is that the Blade has been tested with an EX1 and there is no issue.

That is correct, we have always used a spinning GG in all of our adapters since 2005 - SG35, SGpro & SGblade ('SG' stands for 'Spinning Glass'). Letus only started using spinning GG last year.

I would say edge sharpness is better on the LEX with EX1 achromat than the blade. But then the blade lets you stop down...edge sharpness is fine with the EX1 and Blade if you stop EX1 down...limiting if you are low light of course. But this is mostly on the really wide lenses...

Yes it'll work. You obviously have to have gears for your lenses to work, but the MFF will work fine with any of these 35mm adapters.

You know wayne i must say... i miss the SG35.... The one i had, which was the Sgpro hybrid, which later became the Rev2/3 hybrid.. but that origional GG was so sick. Dudes, it lost like 1/4 stop of light and looked amazing.

I shot Bloody Mary on that thing....
