Adam Pascal's "Single Drop of You" - Music Video

Wow. This is what it's all about, really.
Great cinematography, storytelling, acting, wonderful lighting.
Can I just ask you what the budget was? (cause it almost looked like one of those million dollar film clips man...honest!)

Thanks dude, I appreciate it.

Budget? Eh....? Food and Gas? I didn't do the math but it was well under $1000. The Cobra did like 6 miles to the gallon!

Thanks man.

Well we shot with the brevis35 using Nikons. 28mm, 50mm, 135mm, and some with the stock lens. Format was 1080p 24pa for the most part, some 720p for slomo. The jib is the Advantajib lite from Dykortek, really love that thing. The dolly is home built, just metal, skateboard wheels and pvc pipe for track. I also used a smaller skateboard dolly which I also built.

For lighting I have 3 Arri 650w Fresnels and 1 1000w softlight. Also some reflectors used here and there.

Was a three man crew for the most part, plus hair and makeup. Some of it I had to shoot alone, like all the narrative stuff in the forrest.

We actually had the piano donated by a piano shop. The said it would cost them more to dispose of it, it wasn't in great shape. We got it back to my place and gutted it...took forever, but we shaved off a good 200+ pounds off of it. It still probably ended up weighing about 200lbs. but it made it easier to move around, especially getting it to the forrest location.

It was a fun shoot overall. It took about 5 days in total to shoot. A lot of that was travel. We shot both band setups in one day, all we had with them. The narrative took the most, more locations. I'll post some behind the scenes pics when I get them online.

Anything else?

Cheers!

This is absolutely beautiful. Good Grief... The singer has got quite the voice too...

Yeah I agree, good voice, reminds of the singer from Muse. I thought your clip was elegant and wonderfully paced. Opening shot was a great choice, among many others. Lots of work done here and its evident.

Couple of other comments, some of the crane shots started to get a little old for me, I think this was also tied into the song being 4.40 something minutes without really changing much throughout, started to get a little old, would have love to see a big climaxing lead break in there (thats nothing to do with you of course). Band in restaurant, I think the lighting on singer could have also reflected mood, though felt he was just spotted head to toe. Seems most of your cuts were on the beat, and then the odd one was off. I would keep them all on.

We were pretty limited on time with the singer. He was only available one day...and what a long day that was. The forrest scene during the day, then the coffeeshop that night.

Appreciate the feedback!

nice work! but IMO, adam really needs to stick to broadway... his voice (and performance) is way too over-the-top for pop or singer-songwriter tunes.

Well he's finishing up the RENT tour right now. He's planning on a Broadway Cover album next. Really looking forward to that, some of the arrangements he does of different Broadway pieces are awesome.

Then again I really like his latest solo CD. Definitely worth a listen.
