Phil are your cats really noisy, Ive got one siamese and two orientals and all they do is moan and stare at me meowing with different vocal chords when they dont get their way, my girlfriend has conversations with them, they are nuts lol

Am so annoyed. It was seconds from finishing then froze...it's about 35 minutes away now...

My Siamese make a massive racket. Especially Percy. I have conversations with them too. Oh dear. I need a woman!

sweeettt , thanks MR. Bloom SIR. :p

btw what makes the ultimate more pro than the sgpro ? I can see that the camera is flexing on the "levatating" baseplate there. Any problems with wobbling when you pan ?

I was gonna say, it does look a bit nervous sat on there.

But imacs are?

Cant even put your own soundcard in, we had a 2.8x2 24" witch is one of there top imacs and when editing Hd it was not good enough,
We use mainly adobe products ie: cs4 and so everything we need is in a pc, i can build a 8core pc for the same cost.

however we are getting a mac pro for the studio, as we need to be able to use logic and goliath

Might have the sgpro body with afew lenses there. Not sure yet, as I have mentioned I dont have my own stand, and I dont want to take over the other stand.

Have you resgistered on the site? www.hocusproducts.com

When i compared the blade to the iMac I ment it was ready to use, smart and well presented...

true, im just a mac lover have a mac pro and a macbook pro, cant get enough of em, mac pro has very little wires to fiddle about around when upgrading stuff on em, they think of everything for the consumer imo

more to the point..in philips 3 pics..pic 1 .. look at the white flowers and post in bottom left(orangey fringe look), is that anything to note(ca)?

im not really qualified to comment but is that what it is?

Chromatic Aberration...

Here are 3 720p screen grabs from footage I haven't used.

There is chromatic aberration in the first grab postet by Philip, it is green/blue one side and yelllow/red in the other side of the contrast edges. see the crops from the frame:

Please bare in mind, this is with an EX1, not an HV20...

Looking forward to seeing the footage, Phil.

Those are mainly baseplate issues. My Zacuto system is rock solid.

The Ultimate is one solid mofo...The optics and colour rendition are phenomenal. It's compatibility with the relays is a massive plus that can't be undervalued, I can use my Ultimate with a Varicam, and F900r or even a digibeta aswell as my EX1/3. The SGBlade is for smaller cameras, that is not a bad thing, but the Ultimate is more flexible. Wayne never intended this for the B4 crown. BUT the Blade is astonishing. A really really great piece of kit at an affordable price.

All of this is subject to revision. This is based on just 2 HOURS of use. It needs long term testing. I have been using the Ultimate for 10 solid months. It has had problems and I have had them fixed. I don't know what to expect from the Blade in the coming months, but I don't want to dwell on unknowns or negativity because as I can see there is very little to complain about. It's superb. I just don't want to say to everyone go out and buy it, it's the best thing ever after just a short test. So far it exceeded my expectations and based upon my limited testing it is superb...

I have fallen foul of some users for raving about a product only to find it letting me down a few weeks down the line, so that is my only reason for hesitation.

Six months down the line I will do another review to see how I am getting on with it.

Oh and go to the blog page. The Video should be up by now...

The video is here: http://philipbloom.co.uk/films/35mm-films/the-magic-bus-test-short-made-with-sgblade/
