mini-dv palmcorder and high altitudes

So I am planning on taking a trip that will hopefully lead me to pretty high elevations (at least for me), mainly Tibet and Nepal, possibly even Everest base camp.

Anyway, I have a Panasonic GS180 (lol I know nothing special but is my only and current camera until I take the plunge into buying a prosumer cam hopefully next year, but that will be a different thread/story haha)

So my main concern is; will my little cam be able to cope under these conditions? High altitude, probably cold windy weather?

Thanks in advance for any insight, I really appreciate it!

Cheers!
Simon

P.S. Like most new people to these boards I have learned SOO much from reading and watching samples/clips, thank you so much for this great online community.

I know for a fact that the sony mini dv cameras work very well in a skydiving environment where its cold as heck, winds of 120 mph (usually all openings and seams are taped over or its in a protective case though) and altitudes of at least up to 20,000 ft above sea level.

These are of course short trips :) but I've seen many a cameras last 500 plus jumps without a problem at all. The skydiving world has a strong favor towards sony though and I honestly havent seen anything else jumped as far as mini-dv cameras go.
